Steve and I spent Christmas in New Orleans in 2000.  We stayed at the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street and on Christmas day visited Harrah's Casino.   The dinner cruise on the Natchez on Christmas Eve was a pleasurable evening.  Nothing could outdo the decorations (a block long) inside the Fairmont Hotel.  We took several buggy rides and I was fortunate to get a photo with Estelle Harris (George Castanza's mother on Seinfield) in front of Anne Rice's home on Christmas Day.  Be sure to photograph a cemetery while there and also have a drink at the famous Lafitti's.
