My love of gardening doesn't end outside. I have in the past year gained a love for tropicals, some I had previously and some newly acquired.
Palms - Ravenea Rivularis (Majesty Palm) and Trachycarpus Wagnerians Ananas - Pineapple - All started from a Mom's day gift, harvested one and replanted the top and now in the pineapple business. Elephant Ears - Bergenia Bromeliad - Nidularium Lotus - Nelumbo lutea - I have the Giant Sunburst yellow lotus which flowers in the summer in full sun. This one is hardy to zone 4. Calamondin Orange - Citrofortunella microcarpa 'Variegata' with white flowers and green/yellow varigated fruit. Vigna Caracalla and Tuberose - Took forever but finally bloomed in 2003. Star Jasmine - revived from several infestations of mealy bugs and blooms every spring. Bonsai - Bonsai are tropical here as it gets too cold for mine outside in winter. |
